E-commerce. Selling digital products either to customers (B2C or business to consumers) or to other businesses (B2B or business to business.) For instance, an ebook on self-improvement would be considered a B2C business, while an ebook on how to improve traffic to your website would be considered a B2B business.
Affiliate marketing. This is another aspect of e-commerce. In this case, an agent called an affiliate will sell products on behalf of a merchant for a share of the sales revenue. This is a highly lucrative enterprise because the affiliate does not have to pay for the cost of creating or running the merchantâs website. Additionally, all customer service and product delivery is done by the merchant.
Lead generation. Sometimes offline businesses use the Internet to generate leads for their business. For instance, a motivational expert might use a website to sell tickets to a live seminar or a multi-level company might create a website to get sign-ups for MLM products and business partnerships.
Local marketing. A brick-and-mortar business may create a website to foster a relationship with potential customers. This is an alternative to expensive advertising in print media. Strategies include the use of social media marketing and getting listed in local directories.
